A man, who only introduced himself as Dexter Koh, purchased dozens of donuts for members of the Philippine Army participating in an event at the Bonifacio Global City on Sunday afternoon of March 15.

According to a Facebook post from Captain Gemira Dy of the Philippine Army’s Civil-Military Operations Group, “Some soldiers were in a queue at Krispy Kreme BHS, suddenly a man who introduced himself as Dexter Koh asked them how many soldiers are there for the static display. One of them answered that about 200 Philippine Army soldiers were outside, when Dexter learned this, he ordered doughnuts for everyone which left both the KK crew and army troops astounded. Dexter just briefly paid for the doughnuts that we were not even able to take a photo with him.”

To Dexter, from the bottom of our hearts, we are very thankful for your gesture! Words cannot comprehend enough our gratitude for citizens like you!

Asked how many boxes Koh bought, Dy said a total of 12 boxes were distributed to the soldiers waiting outside. A box of assorted Krispy Kreme donuts is worth P395, which means the donuts cost a total of P4,740.

Dy and her colleagues expressed their gratitude to the mystery man.

The treat was a morale booster for the soldiers, who were affected in the aftermath of the Mamasapano incident, the AFP chief earlier said.

The soldiers were in the Bonifacio High Street area for a static display event for the Army’s 118th anniversary.

Normally donuts are associated with policemen, but this is good as well.
