The infamous Gundam knockoff in Jed’s Island Resort in landlocked Calumpit, Bulacan province, has been turned into a 3D model for general use.

The video uploader, MYMT, introduced the robot model as the JED GIANT ROBOT.

We think the model creation was done out of admiration of this daredevil copyright infringement, and the fact it is so humorously thin in comparison to the original RX-78-2 Gundam. It reportedly caused a buzz in Japanese internet communities.

The program this model is usable in, is in a program called MikuMikuDance.

The program started back in the 2000s as a program for making Vocaloid avatar Hatsune Miku do virtually EVERYTHING YOU WANT.

The program has seen updates enabling it to use other 3d models, backgrounds, and even employ broadcast-grade visual effects. Some users made its resources and rendering data usable to a game engine like CryEngine 3.

And let’s not forget that Gundam knockoff. The download link is here, or directly, at https://bowlroll.net/file/65322, but viewing it requires registration and some deciphering of moonspeak.

And knowledge of using it in MikuMikuDance, of course.

Also, if you visit Jed’s Island Resort for the bootleg Gundam, you’ll be in for a surprise: The robot has been repainted. As to why, we can only speculate.
