To clear up any confusion, especially fears stemming from that Barangay Resolution, Win Gatchalian, the proponent of the said bill, made a clarification regarding the proposed legislation.
Gatchalian assures that no banning of games will occur– only students below 18 years of age, and minors in school hours and in the ungodly hours of the night.
House Bill No. 4740 is also known as ‘Internet Cafe Regulation Act’. No part of this bill has stated any banning of computer games, particularly Defense of the Ancient (DotA).
The bill will only seek to ‘limit’ minors’ entry to computer shops during school hours, and *between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
And there you have it. The bill is by no means draconian. Do not make decisions with emotions. Use your brain. Read. Think before you click. Do not be like the zombies who immediately blurted out dictatorship without even reading the explanation, as seen here.
